Zeolite is a mineral that is mainly composed of aluminosilicate and in the form of a crystal lattice containing oxygen and aluminum or silica, which are in three-dimensional (3D) structure. Most zeolite materials are colorless or white. However, some of them, which contain small or low amounts of iron, appear pale yellow.
The simplest use of zeolite, which is also used in Iran; It is a food supplement for livestock and poultry. In these cases, the substance must absorb compounds such as ammonia so that the ruminant has a greater desire to eat food and is actually fattened sooner.
Zeolite is also used in livestock and poultry due to its molecular porosity and high adsorption capacity. This substance (zeolite) disinfects the environment to a large extent by absorbing moisture and toxic substances up to 4 times the volume of zeolite consumed. And prevents the release of toxic gases in livestock and poultry environment and significantly reduces the incidence of respiratory diseases.
Also, due to the specific molecular structure of zeolite, it can be used in bed soil in cold seasons to prevent the transfer of cold to living organisms.
